I’m loving these scrappy 9 patch blocks. They are so much fun and very quick to make. I sit down at my machine and sew one together every day, then I start on another project I’ve been working on.

Speaking of another project, since I have a holiday weekend off of work, I decided to finish up one of my scrappy quilt tops. This is one that I made to go on my bed. It is lap size, but will cover the area not covered in pillows. My dog likes to lay on my bed and sometimes her feet are not the cleanest, especially in fall and winter.

My sweet Honey

It will keep my bedspread clean and is easy to wash. At night, I can use it as an extra layer. I love my lap quilts.

This one was made using scraps of jelly roll strips. I love, love, love jelly rolls!

Scrappy rail fence

This pattern is a rail fence design. I love the simplicity of it. The blocks are big and it goes together so quickly.

And of course it has a scrappy binding. Every time I make a quilt, there is always a strip of binding leftover. I save these for my scrappy quilts.

I had planned to quilt it with curved lines using my walking foot, but that just didn’t feel right. It has been a while since I quilted a quilt with free motion quilting, so I attached my foot and got started.

Clamshell😕

I planned to do an allover clamshell design, but after I finished the first section, I didn’t love it. So I decided to quilt each row of blocks differently.

Wishbone

The backing fabric is a piece of purple fabric that I picked up at Goodwill. I love it when I find thrifted fabric! The design reminds me of hydrangea blossoms. Purple and hydrangeas. Two of my favorites. How could I go wrong with that?

I hope you are making something scrappy. Share with me what you are making or something scrappy you love.
